Q. I’m looking for a delicious cordial drink to serve at the end of a meal?
A. Frozen Cappucino is a great meal-ender. (Multiply the recipe by the number of guests you’ll be serving.)
  • 1/2 oz Baileys Original Irish Cream
  • 1/2 oz Kahlúa
  • 1/2 oz Frangelico
  • 1 scoop vanilla ice cream
  • 1 dash light cream
Combine ingredients in blender with 1/2 cup crushed ice and blend until smooth. Serve in tall glass rimmed with cinnamon sugar.
Q. I’ve heard about layering cordials for an interesting look and taste. Can you suggest a recipe?
A. A Grasshopper fits the bill.
  • 1 oz crème de cacao
  • 1 oz crème de menthe
  • 1 sprig of mint
Pour the crème de cacao in short glass. Now pour the crème de menthe over the back of a spoon gently so that it floats on top and does not mix. Do not stir. Serve garnished with sprig of mint.
Q. There are so many cocktail recipes that call for cordials, that I don’t know where to begin. Any suggestions?
A. We suggest that you go to the website of your favorite(s) cordial brand(s). They always have old stand-by recipes as well as some new and interesting combinations.
