Q. Are there other ways to enjoy scotch besides straight?
A. There are a few popular scotch cocktails. Here are a couple of our favorites:

Balmoral
  • 1 1/2 oz scotch
  • 1/2 oz sweet vermouth
  • 1/2 oz dry vermouth
  • 2 dashes bitters
In a mixing glass half-filled with ice cubes, combine all of the ingredients. Stir well. Strain into a cocktail glass.

Rusty Nail
  • 1 1/2 oz scotch
  • 1/2 oz Drambuie
  • 1 twist of lemon peel
Pour the scotch and Drambuie into an old-fashioned glass almost filled with ice cubes. Stir well. Garnish with the lemon twist.

Scotch Sour
  • 2 oz scotch
  • 1 oz lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz superfine sugar
  • Garnish: cherry, orange slice
Shake all the ingredients in a shaker with ice and strain into a sour glass. Garnish with the fruits.
