Q. How do I mix a simple vodka martini?
A. Martini making is not complicated. For a basic vodka martini, use:
- 3 oz of your favorite vodka
- 1 1/2 oz vermouth
- 1 tsp olive brine
- 3 olives
Put a handful of ice into a shaker and add the vermouth. Shake, pour into a martini glass, swirl and discard.
Pour the vodka into the shaker and the olive brine, and shake until you can't bear the chill. Pour into the martini
glass, add three small or two large Spanish olives and serve.
